New Olympic stamp series is unveiled
THE countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games continues with the second in Royal Mail's major series of sporting stamps.
The latest issue, subtitled ‘On Track for 2012’, is part of Royal Mail’s role as an official licensee of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and features a fresh set of ten dynamic images which are now on sale.
Among the sports featured on the stamp set are established Olympic sports like hockey, shooting and football, alongside more recent additions including taekwondo and BMX cycling, and three Paralympic sports: rowing, table tennis and goalball.
In total Royal Mail will issue 30 stamps in the run up to the 30th Olympiad and London 2012 Paralympic Games, as part of its role as an official licensee of the Games.
