John Milsted, who replaces Wilton Crawford in the post, brings with him 34 years’ experience of Michelin’s operations in Europe and North America, most recently as Plant Manager of the Vannes factory in North West France.

John joined the Michelin Group in 1979 as a student apprentice in the Stoke-on-Trent factory.

During this time he worked in a number of positions, including Fitter, Technician and Shift Manager, before moving in 1988 to Burnley to become Curing Shop and then Prep Shop Manager.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Milsted said: “Michelin has been making tyres in Ballymena since 1969 and we are proud of the part we have played in the community and the economy here.”
