New principal officially welcomed at Academy

A new school principal has been welcomed to Banbridge Academy.

The Board of Governors, in conjunction with the Southern Education & Library Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Robin McLoughlin as Principal to succeed Mr Raymond Pollock, in January 2015. Mr McLoughlin attended Portadown College before progressing to study Physics at Queen's University Belfast where he graduated with a 1st Class Hons Degree. For the past six years he has been Principal of Grosvenor Grammar School, Belfast. Mr McLoughlin stated that he was delighted to have been appointed and added that he was really looking forward to working alongside everyone in Banbridge Academy to continue to provide the highest possible quality of education. In welcoming the appointment, Mr Pollock commented, "Mr McLoughlin is an experienced Principal with a passion for education and a pupil centred vision. He is highly regarded right throughout our education system for his diligence, expertise, insight and and wisdom and is someone who has a proven record of success in his current school. Mr Robin McLoughlin was greeted at the school last week by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, Eileen Wright and current principal Mr Raymond Pollock.

Mr McLoughlin will take over from outgoing principal Mr Raymond Pollock in January 2015.
