The fun course features 18 holes highlighting key points of interest throughout the borough, from Carrickfergus Castle and the railway line to the Knockagh War Memorial and Diamond Jubilee Wood.

The facility was created with the help of a £50,000 funding boost from GROW South Antrim, with a further £16,000 investment from Carrickfergus Borough Council.

The Mayoress Patricia Johnston will unveil a commemorative plaque on behalf of the Mayor, Alderman Charles Johnston, at the site on Friday morning.

She will be joined by council members and funders along with Whitehead Primary School primary seven pupils, who will be testing the course out.

Councillor Terry Clements, chairman of the Bentra sub-committee said: “This mini golf facility is a great addition to the Bentra golf course and complements the regeneration projects completed in Whitehead.

“This has been built and designed with all the family in mind; I would encourage families with children of all ages to come along to try out this new addition to the borough for a fun day out.”
