Chief Superintendent Goddard previously served as Area Commander in Larne and more recently as H District's Community Safety Superintendent and Operations Manager.

He said: "As district commander, I will be making the best possible use of our resources to maximize the visibility and effectiveness of all our officers in a determined effort to reduce the level of crime, and to increase public confidence in policing.

“I earnestly believe, that greater co-operation between communities and their Neighbourhood Officers will pay dividends when seeking solutions to issues brought to us by local residents.

“In recent years I have been involved in the advancement of Neighbourhood Policing, and by working with communities and by listening and responding to the concerns of local people, I am confident that we can develop and deliver a more personal, protective and professional policing service across the North East.”
