New revisions toFort George planshave been lodged

The proposals for the major mixed use development, including housing, offices, educational facilities, research and development facilities, a call centre, community facilities, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, was originally submitted on July 4, 2012.

Following consultation responses to an original environmental statement submitted in support of the application an environmental impact assessment (EIA) was undertaken and an EIA Addendum submitted in March 2013.

However, further consultations responses required further work to be carried out in support of the application.

This has now been completed and new additional information has been lodged this month.

The new document states: “Other information was subsequently sought by DRD Roads Service (no Transport NI) and NIEA Natural Heritage (to assist with a Habitats Assessment) and is presented here, together with a stormwater assessment recently completed.

“The scheme has evolved in response to consultee comments and the implications of those changes must be considered by environmental assessment.

“Revisions to access proposals, layout and quantum of development have been reassessed by the environmental team, testing the conclusions of the original assessments.”
