New supermarket for Eglinton

A PLANNING application has been lodged to knock down Long's Supervalu in Eglinton and build a new supermarket in its place.

A number of units will be demolished and replaced on Main Street in the village if the plans are approved.

The application reads: "Demolition of existing supermarket and associated units. Construction of new single storey supermarket and off sales, 2-storey retail unit with dry cleaners, fast food outlet, caf/coffee shop and offices. All with associated stores, ancillary accommodation, parking and service areas."
