New term for Friends of Edenderry

Friends of Edenderry Primary School (formerly the Parent Teacher Association) recently meant for the first time this term.

Outgoing chairperson Nicole McKelvie successfully led the group as it raised a significant sum of money for the school last year.

Nicole has now handed over the reins to Mechelle Harshaw. Nicole will continue as Mechelle’s vice-chairperson this year, while all other committee members will continue in 2013/14.

The autumn term’s timetable of events will again mix fun for children and parents alike, and of course raise substantial funds to further enrich school life at Edenderry.

A spokesperson for Friends of Edenderry said, “Already planned are Pupil Film Nights in the week before half term, and a Christmas Craft Fair on November 28. There will also be the chance to guess the number of sweets in the jar, and win one of two adorable Teddy Bears by guessing their names.

“There will also be a subsidised Pupil Cinema Visit and the ever popular Non Uniform Day in the lead up to Christmas.

“It was encouraging to see new faces at the meeting, and of course new members are always more than welcome - many hands make light work.
