New ‘Thursday Club’ for the over 50s is set to begin

A meeting will be held in Lillie Court on Thursday May 28 at 10am to establish ‘The Thursday Club’, which was formerly known as Windermere Thursday Club.

The meeting will draw up a constitution and select officers and committee members.

Tea and light refreshments will be available after the meeting.

Everyone will be made very welcome.

The Thursday Club welcomes anyone over fifty from anywhere within the Lisburn area.

The Thursday Club was formed on September 4 2014 under the name `Windermere Thursday Club` by the then Chairman of Windermere Community Association, Richard Haggan.

Since its formation the club has gone from strength to strength.

The club has obtained the insurance documents it needs to operate, It also applied for and received funding to cover costs such as transport and entrance fees to places of interest.

Applications for membership are accepted from anyone over 50 living within the local council area.

A number of trips have already taken place and more are scheduled for next year.
