New traffic plan forWaterside is needed

Londonderry DUP Assembly candidate Gary Middleton has called for a clear traffic plan to be put in place for the Waterside given the increased volume of cars promised once the new Foyle College and Ebrington site is completed.

“Over recent years there has been increased development in the Waterside area with additional retail, hotel accommodation and schools being built.

“Whilst these developments are very welcome, local residents have voiced their concerns over the increase of traffic and longer delays,” said Mr Middleton.

“The Limavady road is of particular concern with the current new builds of the Foyle college and Ebrington Primary school expected to open over the next 18 months,” he added.

He called for action to address this.

“A clear traffic plan needs to be put in place to ensure efficient flow of traffic throughout the Waterside and for those travelling in and out of Londonderry,” said Mr Middleton.
