New walking guide

A NEW guide exploring the delights of the north west coastline will be published on July 15.

By Rucksack Readers, ‘Causeway Coast Way’ is a brand-new long distance walking guidebook covering the Causeway Coast Way and the Moyle Ways. It will retail at 10.99.

The unspoiled Causeway Coast is one of Northern Ireland’s best-kept secrets, while the Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO world heritage site, is the jewel in the coast’s crown. Its amazing geology is best enjoyed on foot. The ‘Causeway Coast Way’ offers easy-going waymarked walking with welcoming bed and breakfasts and pubs at strategic intervals.

Those who have had their holiday away dashed by the volcano in Iceland, or those who are opting for a ‘staycation’ this year to save their pennies, as well as visitors to the area will find the guide very helpful if looking for cost-conscious holiday ideas.

The walks outlined are ideal for more challenging walks for dedicated walking groups, and also combine well with a trip to the wildlife haven of Rathlin Island, and with the more challenging Moyle Way. The Moyle Way runs for 26 miles (42 km) from Waterfoot to Ballycastle; the Causeway Coast Way follows on with a further 32 miles (51 km) from Ballycastle to Portstewart.

Waterproof, compact and walker-friendly, this new companion provides all anyone could need to enjoy a walking weekend or week-long holiday.

Its features include route maps for Causeway Coast and Moyle Ways (1:85,000); geology and legend of the Giant's Causeway
