New Year cash boost for the Southern Hospice

Southern Trust staff have started the new year as they mean to go on by showing their support for the Southern Area Hospice – the Trust’s charity of the year.

Staff from the Human Resource and Organisational Development (HROD) Directorate and Trust Headquarters raised £1,297 via a range of fundraising activities, including Christmas coffee mornings, raffles and donations in lieu of Christmas gifts.

Kieran Donaghy, Director of HROD said: “I am delighted that staff have put so much effort into raising this money for our Charity of the Year.

“In their time of need families really value the services provided by the Hospice and I am pleased to be able to present this cheque towards their vital work.

“I would also like to thank the many local companies who generously donated prizes for raffles and delicious food for sale in our coffee mornings.”

Fiona Stephens, Corporate Fundraiser for the Southern Area Hospice said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as by the Southern Trust as their Charity of the Year.

“A huge thank you to everyone involved – this donation will be put to excellent use providing care for local people and their families.”
