New Year roadworks: one road closure for Newry, Mourne and Down drivers this week

Newry, Mourne and Down motorists who are heading out and about to celebrate New Years with friends and family will have one road closure to watch out for this week.

And it is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure is due to start this week:

• A483, from 9pm January 8 to 5am January 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A55 westbound, junction 39 - 36 lane closures and carriageway closures due to maintenance works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
