New youth initiative begins in Bushmills to tackle issues

A new youth initiative has started in Bushmills working with young males.

Opportunity Youth’s ‘One Stop Shop’ project, funded by the Public Health Agency, is delivering a 10 week outreach programme addressing health promotion, drug/alcohol education, self-worth and relationships.

Stu Plant of Opportunity Youth, delivering the programme said, “Working closely with Selena Ramsey (Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership) and Bushmills Community Association, we have designed a programme which offers young people the opportunity to further their potential, whilst providing support and advice on a wide range of issues.

“The group are a great bunch of lads.

“ I am confident they will find the programme challenging, informative and enjoyable.”
