News from Islandmagee and Cairncastle WIs

ISLANDMAGEE North: Vice-president Betty Beattie welcomed everyone to Visitors’ Night with guests from Ballycarry, Ballynure, Carrickfergus and Whitehead.

Speaker for the evening was Mr Raymond King, who gave a very interesting talk and DVD presentation of his journey to Antarctica. Although shipwrecked and bobbing around in lifeboats on horrendous seas, what could have been a tragedy ended well with no one lost or injured.

Mr King accepted a cheque for Oxfam, the charity he has supported for many years.
