‘Hot’ metal

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to the theft of a scrap metal bath from a field at the junction of Islandboy Road/Kilmahamogue Road near Ballycastle, at approximately 5pm on Thursday 28th April.

It is believed three males were involved and were travelling in a green Citroen van. Police are emphasising the need for vigilance where any valuable metal is located as thieves are currently targeting such locations. Any suspicious activity to be reported to 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers.

Diesel stolen

BETWEEN 1pm on 30th April and 10am on 2nd May, approximately 100 litres of red diesel were syphoned out of a harvesting digger parked in Glenariff Forest. Police are appealing for information on 08456008000 or phone Crimestoppers 0800555111.

Man arrested

On Monday 2nd May a 55-year-old Ballycastle male was arrested on suspicion of breaching a Non-Molestation Order and Occupation Order following a domestic incident in the Whitehall area of the town.

Ballycastle arrest

On Tuesday 3rd May a 46-year-old Ballycastle male was arrested on suspicion of Threats to Kill and Possession of an Offensive Weapon following a domestic incident in the Fairhead View area of Ballycastle. He has been charged to North Antrim Magistrates Court on May 30.

North Street arrest

On 3rd May a 56-year-old female with a Ballymena address was arrested on suspicion of Driving Whilst Unfit through Drink or Drugs, following a road traffic collision at North Street, Ballycastle.

On Wednesday 4th May a 45-year-old with a Dunloy address was arrested on suspicion of Driving Whilst Unfit at Straid Road, Ballycastle.

Bonfire blaze

On the evening of Wednesday 4th May, 46 wooden boards from the fence around the play park area at Glendun Road, Cushendun, were removed. They were carried over to the nearby beach and burnt on a bonfire, police said. The PSNI is appealing for information on 08456008000 or phone Crimestoppers 0800555111.

Arrest in Diamond

At 2.30am on Sunday 8th May, a 25-year-old Ballycastle male was arrested in the Diamond area of Ballycastle on suspicion of Disorderly Behaviour.
