NI Railways Sunday timetable for Christmas shoppers

Translink NI Railways is advising passengers of changes to timetables from November 17th 2014, in order to improve capacity and service frequency.

The changes have been introduced in time to accommodate Christmas shoppers travelling by train at weekends.

As part of these changes, the Sunday timetable between Belfast and Coleraine and Coleraine to Londonderry/Portrush will operate 13 journeys in each direction, almost doubling the number of services currently operating between the locations.

The first train to Coleraine will now depart Great Victoria Street at 0910, with the first service departing Coleraine at 09.19.

Route Manager Frank Moore said of the new timetable, “These changes mean more frequent services and more capacity for passengers travelling on the Coleraine line. This is one of our busiest lines, with passenger growth of 10.5% year to date. We have been listening to our passengers and taken on board their comments in designing this new Sunday timetable.

Meanwhile, from Sunday November 16th, the Sunday Enterprise timetable will also be changing, with services spread more evenly throughout the day. This will particularly facilitate weekend break travellers returning from Dublin, who can now avail of services back to Belfast at 12noon and 2pm.
