NIDA Camping and Caravan milesone

The Northern Ireland District Association (NIDA) of The Camping and Caravan Club held their 50th birthday ‘meet’ at Portrush Primary School.

There was a turnout of over 50 caravans. Many of the members brought old photos dated back 50 years to the present day and they were on display in the school hall for everyone to see.

On the Saturday afternoon the MG Owners Club arrived with their MG cars for a fantastic display.

That was followed by “afternoon tea” in the school hall which was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Darryl Wilson, NI Regional Chairman Mervyn Best, NIDA Chairman Elma Kirkpatrick, Bangor DA Chairman Vera Kerr, Co. Down DA Chairman Billy Sinclair and all the members.

On the Sunday afternoon there was a barbecue, which everyone enjoyed very much. The rain held off just long enough for the burgers and sausages to be cooked.

In all everyone had a most enjoyable time.

Thanks to everyone who attended the weekend of events and helped in any way with the organising of the many activities.

Roll on next year for another annual meet!
