NIE advises anglers to take care when fishing

Northern Ireland Electricity has launched its annual FishSafe campaign to remind Carrick anglers to look up and look out for overhead electricity equipment before they start fishing.

Every year anglers are injured or killed because they accidentally come into contact with overhead electricity lines and equipment and NIE wants anglers to cast with care.

Hal Steele, NIE Safety Engineer said: “We will be distributing FishSafe leaflets to angling clubs across Northern Ireland and hope that our awareness campaign will encourage all anglers to put safety first before they fish.”
