Jean and Charlie were later to marry in 1939, and settle in Dromore where they had six children: Dessie, Marie, Noel, Vincent, Lelia and Aidan.

Late husband Charlie opened a cafe in Bridge St, Dromore, where the pair both worked until Charlie took early retirement due to ill health. He passed away at the age of 54.

Jean then worked for Pantridge’s of Dromore before she retired. She kept a very active life and was devoted to her faith and attended Mass daily. She was also well known throughout the County for her regular trips to the Bingo with her daughter Lelia - and on occasion she even enjoyed a ‘win’!

Jean also enjoyed trips out with various denominations and organisations in the Dromore area.

Almost three years ago due to failing health, Jean was hospitalised and then became a resident of Mountvale Nursing Home, Dromore.

It was here that she was cared for until her peaceful passing.

The funeral was conducted by Ciaran Heaney Funeral Directors, which took place in St. Colman’s Church, Dromore on Saturday May 25. Requiem Mass was conducted by Fr M McAlinden and concelebrated by Fr G Powell.
