No beating about the Bush

BUSHMILLS Irish Whiskey is giving one lucky person the chance to learn its secrets from master distiller Colum Egan and two local men have made it to the shortlist.

Paul McWilliams from Waringstown saw an advert on the Bushmills Facebook page inviting people to “Make it at Bushmills”. He, along with hundreds of people around the world, then submitted a small piece stating why he should be chosen for the special ‘Bushcamp’.

He said: “I have been a fan of Bushmills for years, so I entered the competition on Facebook. I was knocked over when they contacted me to let me know I was on the shortlist.”

Aptly enough, Paul was in the Celtic Whiskey Shop in Dublin when he was given the news.

Allister Brown, from Moira, didn’t need to think twice before entering.

He said: “I love whiskey and I love challenges, so I made a video as my submission.”

The judges were obviously impressed with his effort that combined his love of Bushmills with his flair for drumming because he too was contacted to let him know he was on the shortlist.

To vote for Paul or Allister, go to www.facebook.com/bushmills1608 and select the one you ‘like’. Voting closes on August 13.
