Police say that no accelerant was used during the incident and the property was empty at the time.

A neighbour who called the Fire Service said a smoke alarm was working.

Firefighters confirmed the blaze had been started deliberately and police are appealing for witnesses. It comes just weeks after another arson attack in the street. On Wednesday April 28 a bag of rubbish was set on fire close to a property during the night.

One person was in the house at the time but managed to escape uninjured. Police are treating that incident as arson endangering life.
