No hiding place for the selfish idiots: Storey

NORTH Antrim DUP MLA Mervyn Storey has slammed the arsonists who destroyed a Community Rescue vehicle in Ballymoney, which was purchased in memorial of 15 year old James Elliot who died in a drowning accident last year.

Commenting after attending the scene Mervyn Storey said,

“The 50,000 vehicle, which was only recently commissioned for service and which I had the privilege of attending, was completely destroyed in the overnight arson attack. This is a stupid, senseless, wanton act that has cost the entire community a valuable rescue vehicle that would definitely have contributed to saving lives.”

Mr. Storey urged anyone who had seen anything or knew anything relating to the arson attack to please come forward and assist the PSNI in their investigations.

“There should be no hiding place for the selfish idiots who carried out this arson attack and I hope the public will see the value of assisting in the arrest of those responsible.

“I have also no doubt that the same community spirit that saw the money raised for the vehicle in the first place will again rise to the challenge and as out of the tragedy of James death, we received the first vehicle made a reality, so out of the ashes of this tragedy we will have a new command centre once again.”
