No strike for Translink workers

Translink has welcomed a decision by UNITE to call off a planned strike yesterday (Wednesday).

Translink described it as ‘good news’ when strike action by members of the UNITE trade union was withdrawn.

Gordon Milligan, HR Director, Translink said, “We wrote to UNITE at the end of last week highlighting the impact their strike would have on our passengers, especially schoolchildren sitting exams.

“This is good news for our passengers and in particular parents and school children. 
“It is clear now that UNITE have acknowledged the need to find efficiency savings in the Translink business.

“We look forward to discussions with union officials.”
