'No' to stables conversion

PLANS to convert stables at Magheramorne into a new residential dwelling have been turned down by planners.

The application, by Mr and Mrs G Davis, was for a site 25 metres north-west of 10 Ballypollard Road. However, the Planning Service refused the proposal and stated that the building was “not considered suitable for conversion”.

Planners added that the development would have an “adverse effect” on the character and appearance of the area, and claimed that it would be a danger to road users as visibility at the existing access was not to an “adequate standard”.
