'No' to Whitepark Road plans

PLANNERS have given the thumbs down to an application for building work in Ballycastle.

Mr R Russell sought the go-ahead for the proposed retention and alterations to an existing building to provide a garage/staff annex similar to previously approved plans but with a slightly amended design and position at 70a Whitepark Road.

Planners said the extension would "if permitted, adversely affect the amenities of the rural area as the proposal is not considered ancillary to the existing property and no case of need has been provided to justify the proposal."

Councillor Oliver McMullan requested a deferral for one month to allow the applicant to provide the Planning Service with more information.

This was agreed to by the Planning Service.
