He said: “ This is a dreadful tragedy, a time of enjoyment has been transformed to a time of grief and torment for the families involved.

“The young men were on the cusp of another exciting time in their lives, but tragically they will not realise their ambitions.

“Everyone in the North Coast community is shocked, their thoughts are with the families of the young men who lost their lives and with their friend in hospital.

“ I am sure serious lessons will be learnt, and hopefully because of that a repetition of this awful event will be avoided.”
