Northern Local Advisory Committee discuss local Health and Social Care issues

The Northern Local Advisory Committee, which informs the Patient and Client Council of local issues in Health and Social Care met recently in Broughshane to discuss car parking at hospitals, podiatry and waiting times.

The Committee discussed waiting times for emergency care in Northern Ireland’s Emergency departments in the last 3 months and are concerned that patients attending Antrim Area Hospital and Causeway hospital are experiencing long waits.

The Patient and Client Council has opened a dedicated, freephone helpline for people in Northern Ireland to share their views and experiences of Accident and Emergency and Out of Hours services. The helpline telephone number is 0800 587 8863 and is free to call from landlines.
