Nostalgia night a great success

This cavalcade of vintage and classic cars and motorcycles left Lagan Valley Island for a Parade Lap through Lisburn City Centre and then the Dundrod Circuit. The vehicles then remained on display at the Dundrod Pits.

Councillor Tim Morrow said: “It was a spectacular sight at Lagan Valley Island as hundreds of vintage and classic vehicles came to participate in the annual cavalcade to mark the start of the Ulster Grand Prix.”

“The sound smell and colour of all those vintage bikes and cars as they lined up to start their lap of the World’s fastest road race at Dundrod really brought a huge smile to my face.

“It was an honour to be part of the cavalcade as I was passenger in one of the LCOVC’s member’s cars. This local event marked the 2016 UGP Bike Week, which will see many of the world’s leading road racers come to the Dundrod Circuit in Lisburn to experience the world’s fastest road race course and perhaps set a few records during the two race days,” concluded Councillor Morrow.

There was no entry fee to participate but those that did were encouraged to donate to the Mayor’s Charity, TinyLife and a cheque will be presented to the Mayor in due course.
