Not a great display but a win nonetheless

Lisanally Rangers Res 1

Tullygally Res 4

TULLYGALLY Reserves made their way to Armagh to play Lisanally Rangers Res on Saturday.

The match started well for the 'Gally and they opened the scoring when Colin Grimley turned three defenders and beat the Lisanally keeper to score a superb individual goal.

This was closely followed by a great goal from Joe Lavery who finished superbly from a through ball from Grimley.

Gerard Maguire got the 'Gallys third from the penalty spot at the second attempt after the Lisanally keeper made a magnificent save from his first effort.

The 'Gally were in cruise control until a penalty at the other end took some of the wind out of their sails. Half time score 3-1.

The second half saw Lisanally push the 'Gally to their limits as they began to play some decent football but they couldn't capitalise on their possession.

The score remained 3-1 until the 75th min when the 'Gally midfield broke quickly and Joe Lavery fed Grimley who again beat defenders and coolly slotted home for his brace.

Not a great performance despite the win, and the 'Gally Res will have to improve their game against sterner competition.

Joe Lavery was voted man of the match for the fourth time this season and seems to be like a good wine and improving with age!

Tullygally thank all sponsors for their very generous contributions towards the night at the races on Saturday, March 20 in Tullygally Bar.
