Funded by NIE Staff and Pensioners Charity Fund and supported by the PSNI, the defibrillator is a much needed resource which will add security and a much needed service to those vulnerable/isolated within the rural community of Dervock.

The erection of a community noticeboard marks the achievement of one of the targets in the Dervock Village Action Plan which suggested “improve flow of local information by providing newsletter and community information board”.

Ultoniae Cultural & Heritage Society (PIP initiative) in partnership with Dervock & District Community Association and The Country Medical Centre provided additional funding which allowed 14 people to be trained in basic life support and defibrillation training.

Chairman of Dervock & District Community Association, Frankie Cunningham said: “ “The community needed a medium to raise the level of awareness to the

residents regarding social activities, on welfare benefits, health and social care, education & training – therefore creating a physical conduit so that social inclusion can be offered and managed through an established Community Noticeboard.

“Along with plans for a bi-monthly Newsletter, this will provide measures for ALL community based groups to promote community events and projects. Thanks to North Antrim Community Network, Causeway Coast & Glens Council, DADCA Ltd Co and Building Communities Resource Centre (BCRC).”
