NRC Awarded Gold Charter Award for ‘Safe Place’ Initiative

THE Northern Regional College has been awarded the Gold Charter Award for a second year as part of the Colleges ‘Safe Place’ initiative.

The College adopted the Onus ‘Safe Place’ initiative which provides information on support services available to anyone experiencing domestic abuse and acknowledges the College pledge to provide support within the workplace to anyone who may experience domestic abuse.

Barbara Laverty, NRC Head of Human Resources and Equality, said: “By achieving this Gold Charter Award from Onus for the second year and displaying the logo within the College, it firstly helps raise awareness that we as an organisation are aware that domestic abuse is prevalent in our society today and that we are prepared to play our part in supporting victims.

“It also affirms our commitment to our workforce to do whatever we can to support them, where necessary”.
