NRC hosts career day at Ballymoney

STUDENTS from across the Northern Regional College were given the excellent opportunity to learn how best to make themselves employable in today's market by some of Northern Ireland's leading companies thanks to a new initiative from the Northern Regional College.

Over 300 students at Ballymoney and Coleraine Campus took part in this one day programme designed to explore the world of work with a group of local employers and provide in-depth knowledge into the variety of careers options available with the necessary steps and skills required to achieve their goals.

NRC also opened its doors and invited the community to join them and meet the organisations. Representatives from Semta, NIE, Fire & Rescue Service, RAF, Army, Royal Navy, HCL, Grafton Recruitment, Queens’, UU Business School, John Moors University Liverpool, Harper Adams University College, Mont Charles, Chain Reaction Cycles, Skillset Media, Craft NI, Arts Council, Cogent, NICMA, STA Travel and RSPB were on hand to provide their expertise and to encourage the potential jobseekers.

Commenting at the event Stephen McCartney, NRC’s Student Support Manger stated that “This is the first time we have run this event and it has attracted some very big names in recruitment.

“The event provided a taster of what careers are on offer in today’s economic climate and the opportunity for students to explore their choice of careers and pathways within these companies. We extend our sincere thanks to these organisations that have joined us in providing some excellent career advice, interview techniques or simply a career-focused chat to the students.”
