NRC reappointment for Ballyclare man

Ballyclare man Ken Nelson has been reappointed as a member of the Governing Body of Northern Regional College (NRC).

Mr Nelson, who is the chief executive of Larne’s enterprise agency LEDCOM, is a former pupil of Ballyclare High School. He has over 22 years of experience working as a business advisor, mentor and trainer with entrepreneurs, start up companies, small businesses and social enterprises.

His reappointment was announced by Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry.

He said: “I am confident the reappointment of Mr Nelson will continue to enhance the skills and expertise of the NRC governing body.

“This reappointment ensures that the college continues to have governors with the qualities, experience and commitment required to provide the strategic leadership and direction for the future.

“The further education colleges have the opportunity to play a crucial role in the training and development of our workforce,” he said.

The reappointment took effect from September 1, 2014 and is for four years.
