NRC reappointment for LEDCOM chief

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has announced the reappointment of Ken Nelson - the chief executive of Larne enterprise agency LEDCOM - as a member of the governing body of Northern Regional College (NRC).

Dr Farry said: “I am confident the reappointment of Mr Nelson will continue to enhance the skills and expertise of the NRC governing body.

“This reappointment ensures that the college continues to have governors with the qualities, experience and commitment required to provide the strategic leadership and direction for the future.

“The further education colleges have the opportunity to play a crucial role in the training and development of our workforce, with the skills to meet the demands of our local economy.”

The reappointment of Mr Nelson took effect from September 1, 2014 and is for a period of four years.

Mr Nelson has over 22 years of experience working as a business advisor, mentor and trainer with entrepreneurs, start-up companies, small businesses and social enterprises.
