NRC students trace their footsteps in nature

STUDENTS from Northern Regional College are presenting their unique artwork at Greystone Library, Antrim, from February 1 to March 31.

In their exhibition ‘Human Footprints in Nature’, the artists explore the theme of human traces in our natural environment and how we leave tracks, trails and evidence of our existence imprinted on the natural landscape.

This showcase exhibition presents craft and sculpture produced by full-time students currently undertaking the BTEC National Diploma Art and Design course at NRC. According to Sandra Kerr, Art and Design lecturer at Northern Regional College, this is the first public display of the exhibition before it is shown at the college and Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena.

Darlene Hagan-Bezgin Senior Lecturer in Art and Design comments,” We are always pleased to have an opportunity to exhibit our students work particularly because this exhibition is of such a high standard. We in NRC Art and Design Department are delighted to showcase the talent of the future”.

Desima Connolly, Community Arts Officer, Antrim Borough Council adds ‘Cultural Services is so pleased to support the work of local creative students and the College and hope it will lead to many more shared initiatives. We are indebted to Libraries NI and in particular the lovely staff at the Greystone branch for their support and generosity’.
