Nurses support Millbrook pastor’s ‘Race for Life’

They were given a pink send off on Sunday morning at the community centre, home to Millbrook Church of the Nazarene, as members of the church turned pink in support of the runners taking part in the run at Stormont.

The day began with a buffet breakfast, which is how church begins on the first Sunday of each month.

It was followed by a service of blessing praying for those colleagues, friends and family currently battling cancer and remembrance for those who have passed.

In keeping with the occasion, the live band played songs encouraging hope through tough times and motivating them for the day.

The next goal in the church’s calendar is to support William Robinson and Matthew Beggs, both living in Millbrook and working in Larne, fund a trip to Tanzania, in August with Larne-based children’s charity ‘Kids 4 School’.

William and Matthew will be joining a team, building a new school and making repairs and refurbishments to existing buildings.

Larne Grammar teacher Rhyan McCoy, and Larne man Philip Campbell, also members of the church at Millbrook, completed a 100K Coastal Cycle Challenge round the Ards Pennisula in aid of the trip. A Tanzania Tea event is to be held in Millbrook Community centre on Saturday July 19. Everyone welcome.

All funds raised will go directly to funding this trip and to the work of ‘Kids 4 School’.

Also promoting fitness for life, will be the kids’club inAugust which will run from Monday 11 to Friday 14, 7.00 pm to 8.30pm. The theme is ‘The Quest’ looking at how fit we are to serve the King.

It will feature stories, songs, crafts, games, and the ever popular puppets each night.

The Quest is suitable for all primary school age children.
