NW restaurants and hotelsin running for recognition

Several Londonderry restaurants and hotels have made it through to the finals of the Licensed and Catering News Awards 2015.

The Sooty Olive, on Spencer Road and Pier 59 on the Strand have been nominated in the best newcomer category.

The Everglades Hotel in Prehen has also been nominated in the best hotel under 75 rooms category whilst its manager Neil Devlin is also in the running for a personnel award.

Browns in Town, on the Strand Road, is in with a chance of winning the best restaurant crown, and the Roe Park Resort in Limavady is in the running in the best hotel over 75 rooms category.

The awards will take place in the iconic Europa Hotel Belfast on Friday, June 5.

They will be hosted by famous sports presenter Adrian Logan and will play host to the best of the hospitality industry across the country as they fight to bring home a coveted LCN Award.

With more than 400 individual entries received, reaching the finals of these awards signifies a major achievement for members of the hospitality industry including restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and many more.

The Licensed and Catering News Awards have annually attracted high calibre entries from leading businesses in the hospitality industry who feel that they are in the running to scoop a prestigious award, so this year is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet with more than 400 guests and finalists set to attend.

The awards have garnered much industry support over the years and 2015 is no different.

Leaders in their respective fields - such as Tennent’s NI, Diageo, Bushmill’s, Balmoral, AIB, WKD, McWhinney’s Sausages, Hugh Jordan and Deakin Estate- are already sponsoring a selection of this year’s awards categories.

The awards ceremony is billed as an opportunity for entrants and sponsors to gain peer recognition, whilst also affording an opportunity for networking with key decision makers and firms.
