DUP MLA Gary Middleton says he hopes a £45m investment at the Crescent Link that its been promised will create 500 sustainable jobs when and if the project is completed in 2017 as hoped, can be progressed soon.

The developers of ‘North West One’ originally hoped that five hundred jobs more (man hours) would be supported over two years of construction from early to mid-2015, pending approval but that hasn’t happened yet.

Mr Middleton said he hoped the scheme, which will include a ten-screen cinema, a gymnasium, a drive-through and auxiliary health care facilities and a major retailer, new to Londonderry, will get a green light.

“I hope we see progress on this and get it over the line soon,” said Mr Middleton.“A lot of work has gone into the application over a number of years and it would mean a significant investment, bringing a large number of jobs to the Waterside and the city of Londonderry generally.”
