NW200: Race Director says investigation will be carried out
North West 200 race director Mervyn Whyte says an investigation will be carried out into Saturday’s crash, after a spectator and two riders were injured.
Three riders - Dean Harrison, Stephen Thompson and Horst Saiger were involved in the incident, along with a local woman, Violet McAfee.
Dean Harrison was unhurt and Saiger had only minor injuries, he was discharged from the Causeway Hospital on Monday.

Hide AdViolet and Stephen are descibed as being in a ‘stable condition’ at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital.
Mervyn Whyte revealed in an interview with the BBC this afternoon, that he had visited all those injured over the weekend.
He said that his ‘first priority’ was to support the families of those injured.
Decribing the incident as a ‘freak accident’ the Race Director said that an investigation would be carried out by the sports governing body.
