NWRC paid £4.9k to settle industrial case

THE North West Regional College (NWRC) spent £4,966 settling industrial tribunal or employment tribunal cases in 2009/10.

NWRC was the only regional college to disclose the sum paid out in settlements last year.

Belfast Metropolitan College and the Southern Regional College indicated that due to terms applied to settlements they were not at liberty to disclose the settlement amounts.

At the Northern Regional College, the South Eastern Regional College

and the South West College there were no pay-outs.

Employment and Learning Minister Danny Kennedy detailed the total amount spent in settlements of industrial tribunals in response to an Assembly Question from SDLP MLA for Foyle, Pól Callaghan.
