Deaths in the community

The death took place on October 9 of Rosaleen Sherry, Portadown, daughter of the late Edward and Mary Josephine.

She was the sister of Michael and the late Margaret Gribben, John, Eddie, Mary, Philomena Gilravey, Fr Brendan, Patrick Vincent, Annie, Clare and Colette.

Her funeral was last Thursday to St Patrick’s Church, William Street.

Majorie Morton

Majorie Morton, formerly of Beechcote Avenue, Portadown, died peacefully at Mahon Hall Care Home on October 11.

She was the wife of the late William, mother of Joan, Stephen and Kenneth, mother-in-law of Martin and Maureen and grandmother of Catherine, Alison, Helen, Rebecca, John, Carly and Nathan.

Her funeral was on Monday to First Presbyterian Church, Portadown, with interment in Kernan Cemetery.

William Thomas Sinton

The death took place peacefully at his home on October 13 of William Thomas Sinton, 3 Montague Villas, Tandragee.

He was the husband of Adeline, father of Colin and Elaine and grandfather of Peter.

His funeral service was on Monday in Ballymore Parish Church with interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Patricia Bonderup

The death took place on October 13 of Patricia (Pat) Bonderup, nee McNeice, formerly of Thomas Street, Portadown.

She was the wife of the late Kent and sister of Teddy Speers.

Her funeral was on Monday from Quinns Bros Funeral Home to St John the Baptist Church, Drumcree, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Patrick Gorman

Patrick (Paddy) Gorman, 30 Drumcree Road, Portadown, died on October 13.

He was the wife of Phyllis and father of Deborah, Maria, Carmel, Padraig, Paula, Conor, Catriona, Eamon, Patsy-Ann, Kellie, Ellisa and Barry.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St John the Baptist Church, Drumcree, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Keith Dickson

After a long illness Keith Dickson, 5 Quality Hill, Laurelvale, died at hospital on October 15.

He was the husband of Heather and father of Lee-Anne and Emma.

Also regretted by father Tommy, sisters Janet and Carol, brothers-in-law Clive and David, neice Gail, nephew Neil, Andrew and their families.

His funeral was yesterday (Thursday) to Thomas Street Methodist Church, Portadown, with interment in Kernan Cemetery.

Margaret Elsie Moore

The death took place peacefully at hospital on October 15 of Margaret Elsie Moore, wife of the late David, formerly of Oakwood Place, Portadown.

She was the mother of Deirdre, Harry, Tom, David and Avril.

Her funeral is today (Friday) from her home, 6 Junction Row, Portadown, to St Columba’s Parish Church and afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium.

John Woods

John Woods, of Derrycarne Road, Portadown, died peacefully at hospital on October 16. He was the husband of Gwen and father of Robert and Lorraine and the late David and Ivan.

His funeral was yesterday (Thursday) to Drumcree Parish Church with interment in the adjoining churchyard.
