Deaths in the community

The death has taken place of Samuel George Currie, son of Ellen and brother of Pauline, Mervyn, Stephen, Ann, Geoffrey, Nigel and Joycelyn.

His funeral was from his home at Knockshee, Lurgan to Lurgan Cemetery.

Thomas (Tommy) Strain

The death has taken place in Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry of Tommy Strain of Stevenson Park, Lurgan.

Mr Strain is the husband of Isobel and father of Arlene, Rod, Shaun, and Patsy.

His funeral was from his daughter Patsy McEvoy’s home at Lough Road Lower to St Anthony’s Church, Craigavon and afterwards to Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast.

Eilish Lavery (nee McShane)

The death has taken place at Craigavon Area Hospital of Eilish Lavery, wife of the late John Lavery formerly of Thornleigh, Lurgan and mother of Jennifer McConville.

Mrs Lavery’s funeral was from her daughter’s home at Derrytrasna to St Paul’s Church, Lurgan. Interment was at St Colman’s Cemetery.

She is mourned by her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Kieran, Sharon and Chloe and grand grandson Odhran.

She is the aunt of Gerald, Marian, Ann, Damian, Elizabeth, Teresa and the late Bronagh.

Elizabeth (Betty) Lavery

The death has taken place at Aughnacloy House of Elizabeth (Betty) Lavery.

She is the daughter of the late James and Eliza-Jane, Moss Road, Gawley’s Gate and sister of Susan, Tony and the late Patrick and Jane.

Her funeral was from her late residence to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Dermot McCrory

The death has taken place at his Aghagallon home of Dermot McCrory, husband of the late Mary Patricia McCrory.

Mr McCrory is the father of Patrick, Thomas, John, Martin, Dermot, Mary and the late Michael and brother of Winnie and Gertie.

His funeral was from his home at Rock Lane to St Patrick’s Church, Aghagallon followed by burial at the Old Aghagallon cemetery.

Henry (Harry) Toman

The death has taken place of Harry Toman, husband of Eileen Toman from Victoria St Place, Lurgan.

Mr Toman is the father of Teresa, Frank, Bernadette, Stephanie and Lucia.

His funeral was to St Pater’s Church with burial afterward at St Colman’s Cemetery.

Eamon (Blackie) McQuillan

The death has taken place suddenly of Eamon McQuillan, wife of Catherine from Brownlow Terrace, Lurgan.

Mr McQuillan is the father of Emmet, Laura and Michael and grandfather of Jordan.

He is the son of the late Billy and Mena McQuillan and brother of Jean, Lee, Bernard, Margaret and the late Judith and Johnny.

His funeral was to St Peter’s Church followed by burial at St Colman’s Cemetery.
