Deaths in the local community for the period February 2 - 7, 2010

The death took place peacefully at Newry Hospice on February 2 of Annie (Nan) McCartan/Harbinson, nee McCann, 67 Killough Gardens, Lurgan.

Deeply regretted by her family, Joe, Pat, Maria, Martin and Paul and family circle.

Her funeral was on Thursday to St Paul's Church followed by interment in St Patrick's Cemetery, Derrymacash.

Jamesie McCabe

The death took place on February 1 at Deeside Community Hospital of Jamesie (Jim) McCabe, Connahs Quay, North Wales, and formerly of Lurgan.

He was the husband of the late Maureen and father of Greta, Jim and Kieran.

He was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret and brother of Gretta, Francie and the late Sonnie and Noel.

Jean Bell

The death took place on February 3 at Seapatrick Nursing Home of Jean Bell, late of Gracey Drive, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late David and mother of Ireene, Ivor and Jim.

Her funeral was on Friday to Shankill Parish Church followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Michael Rooney

The death took place suddenly on February 2 of Michael Rooney, 89 New Street, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Pauline, father of Connor and Andrew and brother of May, Kathleen, Angela, Eileen and Ursula.

Janet Jordan

The death took place at hospital on February 3 of Janet Jordan, late of Clanconnel Gardens, Waringstown.

She was the wife of the late Hercules and mother of Carol, Mark and Arthur.

Her funeral was on Friday to Holy Trinity Church, Waringstown, followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Samuel Carson

The death took place peacefully at hospital on February 4 of Samuel (Sammy) Carson, husband of the late June, late of Woodford Park, Lurgan.

He was the father of Elizabeth, Edward and Allister.

His funeral service was on Saturday in Malcomson's Funeral Home followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Ita McStraw

The death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on February 3 of Ita McStraw, nee Fitzpatrick, 40 Killough Gardens, Taghnevan, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Gregory, Adrian and Michael.

Her funeral was on Saturday to St Paul's Church followed by interment in St Colman's Cemetery.

James George McCann

The death took place suddenly at hospital on February 6 of James George (Jim) McCann, late of 5 Hill Street, Gilford.

He was the husband of Elaine and father of Stephanie and Diane.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Paul's Parish Church, Gilford, followed by interment in Tullylish Parish Churchyard.

Seamus Magill

The death took place peacefully at hospital on February 6 of Seamus Magill, 14 Ashgrove Park, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Elizabeth and father of Christopher, Claire and James.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Peter's Temporary Church followed by interment in St Colman's Cemetery.

Terence O'Hanlon

The death took place suddenly on February 7 of Terence O'Hanlon, 30 Thornleigh, Lurgan.

He was the partner of Fidelma and father of Aine, Denise, Caroline, Kevin and Terry.

His funeral was on Tuesday to St Paul's Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Annie Kane

The death took place peacefully on February 8 of Annie Kane, wife of the late Pat, 5 Kilwilkie Gardens, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Pearse, Gerard and Moira.

Her funeral was on Thursday to St Peter’s Temporary Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Sr Mary Carmel Mulligan

The death took place on February 8 after a long illness of Sr Mary Carmel Mulligan, Lurgan.

She was the daughter of the late Barney and Annie Mulligan, 71 Mullabrack Road, Markethill, and sister of Peter, John, Eddie, Peggy, Kathleen and the late Jimmy, Barney, Pat and Michael.

Her funeral was on Wednesday to St Paul’s Church followed by interment in the cemetery at the Convent of Mercy, Edward Street, Lurgan.
