Devoted wife, mother and grandmother

Banbridge woman Alexandra (Sandra) Teggart passed away recently, aged 64, at Craigavon Area Hospital.

The eldest of four siblings, Sandra was born on January 22, 1950, the devoted daughter of Alec and the late Nan Beck and later devoted sister to Anne, Ian and Gavin.

She lived at Rathfriland Street, Banbridge.

Mrs Teggart is survived by husband Robbie, sons Jason, Lee and Mark, daughter-in-law Karen, granddaughter Ellen, Anna and Lisa and wider family circle. Sandra attended Abercorn Primary School and Banbridge High School before taking up employment in the Down Shoes Factory.

It was through her great friendship with Rosemary Murphy (nee Teggart) that Sandra met Robert (Robbie), who was to become her husband on July 22 1970; the couple were blessed with sons Jason, Lee and Mark.

The family resided in Gilford and Lenaderg, Edenderry Gardens, Banbridge and finally Grove Meadows, Banbridge.

A devoted wife and mother, Sandra was at her happiest when surrounded by family; her greatest delight was upon the birth of her granddaughter Ellen, with whom she loved to spend time, taking a great interest in her schoolwork and thoroughly enjoying playing games and spending quality time with her.

In recent years Sandra’s health suffered; she was hospitalised frequently and, although her pain must have been great, she never once complained, always putting others first.

Sandra was a kind and friendly person, as evidenced by the large number of mourners who attended her funeral at Seapatrick Parish Church, Banbridge, where the Ven. Roderick West officiated.

Interment followed in Banbridge Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to James Miniss and Son, Castlewellan Road, Banbridge, to whom donations in lieu of flowers may, if desired, be sent, for Marie Curie.
