Met the man 
of her dreams 
in London

The passing of Mrs Mary Kathleen McGuire took place at Seapatrick Care Home on Wednesday, September 4.

She was the dearly loved wife of Maurice of 142 Edenderry Park, Banbridge. Formerly Miss Kathleen Gartland, she met Maurice in London and the relationship grew that the Wexford man took the young Banbridge woman as his wife.

After their marriage they returned to England to their respective jobs. After returning home her son Stephen was born, while Joanne and Bernie were both born in England.

After returning home to Banbridge they sought different jobs about town. They enjoyed going out and were seen socialising. Worshipping at St Therese Chapel. She soon worked her way back into the community.

She was a woman of a friendly disposition 
and was highly respected by everyone who had 
the pleasure of knowing her.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Maurice; one son, Stephen; two daughters, Joanne and Bernie; daughter-in-law Sheila; sons-in-law Gareth and Mark; grandchildren Chloe, Hollie, Daniel, Katie; one brother, Hugh Gartland and two sisters, Bernie Lyness and Linda Adamson. To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

The funeral took place from the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Friday for Requiem Mass in St Therese Church, Scarva Road which was celebrated by Canon Liam Stevenson.

The soloist was Ronan Sharkey and Doreen Finnegan presided at the organ.

The interment took place afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Dromore Road. Family flowers were placed on the grave.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
