Much-loved ‘Kitchie’ laid to rest

Mr John Kitchner McDowell of Pineview Court, Gilford passed away at Craigavon Area Hospital on Tuesday 23rd December 2014.

‘Kitchie’ as he was known to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, was a man of a cheery and friendly disposition.

He had as his partner for many years Kathleen Bingham and they were good for each other.

He left Gilford and joined the Royal Marines. After that, Kitchie returned home and served his time as a plasterer. His skills were always sought after.

He was very keen on all sports especially when Ulster and Ireland played rugby. He was also a member of St Paul’s Parish Church.

He is survived by his partner Kathleen, sister Patricia who lives in Tamworth and Joe Bell (Richhill). To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been
extended.

The funeral took place from his home on Saturday 27th December to All Saints Parish Churchyard, Tullylish and was largely attended.

Rev. Denise Cadoo officiated at the home and graveside. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent if desired to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for I.C.U. Craigavon Area Hospital.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
