Seapatrick grandmother had worked in Edenderry

A Seapatrick grandmother, described as someone with many sterling qualities, passed away recently.

Margaret Nelson, or Rita as she was affectionately known, of Seapatrick Villas Seapatrick, died at Iveagh Nursing Home on Saturday, September 20. Rita, was the dearly loved wife of the late James (Jim) who predeceased her in January 2012 and was the dearly loved mother of Glynn and mother-in-law of Amanda and loving granny of Stuart, Scott and Hannah.

She was a former worker at Seapatrick Mill, Down Shoes and then worked as a domestic staff member at Edenderry Primary School.

One of her great enjoyments was attending dances with Jim and socialising with friends. She was also a committed member of Bannside Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and her brother John.

The funeral took place from her home last Monday for a service in Bannside Presbyterian Church which was conducted by Rev. Dr Mark Gray. He conducted the services in the home, church and graveside.

The hymns ‘Abide with me’ and ‘How great thou art’ were sung while Mr. Alistair Mitchell presided at the organ.

Interment took place in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for Cancer Research N.I.
