The enrolment at St Bernard’s will increase from 493 to 595 pupils and at St MacNissi’s from 175 to 210 pupils from September 1, 2014 or as soon as possible after that date. Both schools’ approved admissions numbers will increase to make up the higher enrolments.

Mr O’Dowd said: “These schools have both experienced a growth in enrolment and have been oversubscribed in recent years.”

“An increase in enrolment at these schools will cater for the demand in this area and on this basis I approve these proposals.”
