Official opening of Ballymaconnelly Hall

THE official opening of Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall will take place this Friday night - less than a year after the Worshipful Master, Nigel Bamford, was pictured laying the first brick.

Members of the Lodge and band are delighted with the new building which will be available for all the community in the Rasharkin district.

The Rev. Alastair Smith, Deputy Grand Master of Ireland along with the Deputy Grand Chaplain, Rev. Merbyn Gibson, and Joe Gaston, County Grand Master will be the special guests at the opening ceremony.

A spokesperson for the Lodge praised the hard work and commitment put in by all those involved in the project and stressed that the Hall reflected the positive approach from all those at Ballymaconnelly.

He said: “The old hall served a purpose but we had to expand to enable us to provide the sort of facilities necessary in this modern era.”

The opening will be followed by a series of events.

On Sunday there will be a service of thanksgiving and praise at the hall and on Tuesday night (July 3), members have been invited to Movanagher Fish Farm.

On Thursday (July 5), a Treasure Hunt has been planned with cars leaving the hall at 7 p.m.
